I was raised in Millerton, NY and attended Webutuck through my sophomore year, completing high school after moving to Tucson, Arizona, in 1985. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northern Arizona Univ., in 1991. Upon moving back to the beautiful Hudson Valley in 1998, where I live with my wife, son and daughter, I have received my Bachelors and K-12 Visual Arts certification in Art Education and my MFA in Painting from SUNY New Paltz. I have been an Art teacher at Webutuck since 2014. I can say that I am most proud of my students' hard work and growth each year. I encourage personal voice and choice in the art studio and strive to get the best from each student. A favorite quote is "creativity is about allowing yourself to make mistakes, Art is knowing which ones to keep." And, of course "there are no mistakes, only happy accidents"- Bob Ross. I have been an advisor for several clubs and organizations and am currently the advisor for the After School Art Club. The electives I teach are: Studio Art, Ceramics, Drawing & Painting, Mural Painting, Mechanical & Architectural Drawing, and Photography, with the occasional Portfolio Prep and Art Independent Study. In addition to teaching, I am also a professional artist. I am an outdoor enthusiast and love spending time in Nature, which can be seen in my drawing, painting and photography work.
