Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to Math 7 and Math 8 classes! As I write this, we are just over halfway through the 2021-2022 school year ♥
This year's math learning uses a combination of paper and pencil along with iPad technology. I love technology, but I believe much of math is just better when a pencil and eraser are involved. We will definitely combine the best of technology with old-school pencils this year.
I am certified to teach in several areas, including math (grades 7-12), general subjects (grades K - 6), and special education (all grades). I am a NYS Master Teacher -- http://www.suny.edu/masterteacher/about/ for more info about the Master Teacher program. Over the last several years, I have assisted in the development of several NY state teachers’ exams for teacher certification and hosted a few college student observers and student teachers.
In addition to teaching math, I also run some after school clubs during the school year such as Rubik's cube, Summer Camp Crafts, and Marble Mania. I am always changing my club offerings, so stay tuned for the next ones I will offer! I also manage the Ski/Snowboard club each winter, which may return NEXT winter (not this year). None of these clubs could happen last year, so I am definitely looking forward to resuming them this year.
I live locally with my husband, Bob, and my son, Melvin, who is in 11th grade this year. Outside of school, I enjoy skiing, gardening, camping, reading, and crafts (especially painting ceramics).
