Desha's Law
In July 2025, the New York State Legislature passed Desha's Law, which requires schools to develop and implement Cardiac Emergency Response Plans (CERPs) to address sudden cardiac arrest incidents on school grounds and during school-sponsored events. In accordance with this law, CERPs have been developed. They are incorporated into each of the Webutuck Central School District's confidential Building-Level Emergency Response Plans and the District-Wide Safety Plan.
The updated District-Wide Safety Plan can be found on our website at webutuckschools.org under the District Information and Required Notifications page. The revised plan will be adopted at the December 1 BOE Meeting taking place at 6:30 p.m.in the WHS/EBIS School Library.
