The Henriquez Award
Background:
Mr.
Henriquez and his wife Alice retired to Millerton from New York City. They formed a friendship with a teacher at
the Millerton Elementary School which led to the creation of the Mighty Pen
Club, of which they were active participants.
Mr. Henriquez was an avid reader and for a number of years operated a
(for profit) lending library out of his house in Millerton. After his wife
passed, he established a fund in her memory, and his name was added after his
death.
