Dear Parents & Guardians,

 

Attached is our May 2008 monthly calendar.  Please note that the information on this calendar is current as of the date at the top of this letter.  It is my hope that there will not be any changes.  If there are any changes, you will be informed as much in advance as possible.

 

Reminders:

  • Please be reminded that cars should not enter the circle in front of Amenia Elementary during morning bus arrival from 8:00 am – 8:40 am. Most parents are already following through with this request.  Your continued cooperation is very much appreciated for the safety of our students.

 

  • Flip Flops and other Unsafe Footwear:  Please speak with the children about wearing appropriate footwear for outdoor play.  Flip flops and open-toed sandals become a hazard when worn during recess.  Additionally, some of our students are having difficulty traversing the stairs in shoes that tend to slip off their feet.  I ask that parents refrain from sending students to school in footwear that is loose and prone to easily slide off during activity.

 

  • BUDGET VOTE and BOE Elections: Please be reminded that our annual budget vote and Board of Education elections will take place on May 20th at Webutuck High School.  The polls are open from noon-9pm.  Information regarding the 2008-2009 school budget is available in our Central Administration Office or by calling 845-373-4100.                      Please remember to exercise your right to vote on May 20th.
