Cell Phone and
Electronics Policy
We
at Webutuck Jr/Sr High School wish to provide the optimal educational
experience for every child. A large component of this is to limit distractions
to an absolute minimum. We ask that parents support our desire to maintain a
learning environment by emphasizing to their children the need to leave
electronic items at home or for them to remain out of sight and out of use
during school hours. Cell phones, IPods, all electronic items are to remain off
and out of sight at all times due to the distractions they cause during
classroom instructional hours. Failure to follow this policy will result in the
following consequences:
First
Incident: Faculty or Staff will take the item and give to an administrator. The
student will then have the item returned at the end of the school day.
Second
Incident: The item will be confiscated and given to an administrator. The item
will remain with the administrator until the parent or guardian comes to school
to meet with the administrator and to retrieve the item.
Please
provide your support by reminding your child that we are seeking to
provide the best learning environment possible for every student. This is a
small but significant matter that negatively impacts this focus.
