Amenia Elementary students enjoyed themselves at the Indian Rock Schoolhouse last week. They learned to plant corn “the old fashioned way” with Rudy Eshbach. The schoolteacher, Miss Joan Murphy, taught them about school “in the olden-days”. Some students were treated to singing songs about Arbor Day, with Margaret O’Brien. Students planted trees with Pine Cone Pete and Rudy in celebration of Arbor Day on April 27th. Some students went on an environmental observation walk, where they recorded their findings. The trip was made possible by Mrs. Ann Linden and Mr. O’Neil. Also, thank you to all of the teachers and parents who helped make these days enjoyable for our students!
